A safe is a strong box or room, used to securely store valuables, which are typically of high monetary value, of historical importance, or firearms. Safe's may be constructed from heavy steel, and use two or more strong locking points to restrict unauthorized entry. Many digital safes are now manufactured with in-built electronics, which allows a digital passcode to be entered using one key only, however if there is an electrical outage, a second or backup key would allow an authorized person access. The weight of any security safe is dependant on its size and construction material, large units may require heavy machinery to move, or even be built into a building itself, taking on the name of a vault.
