Visit http://www.care.org/ to find out how you can fight global poverty by empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality.

Women and girls are the most impoverished, most discriminated-against group on earth. Of the 1.3 billion people living in absolute poverty worldwide, 70% are women and girls. Women work two-thirds of the world's working hours, but earn only 10 percent of its income. They produce half the world's food, but own only 1% of its land. And when it comes to literacy, two-thirds of the world's 900 illiterate adults are women. CARE is committed to Millennium Development Goal #3 because empowering women and creating gender equality is the way to bring about lasting change against global poverty. Every single Millennium Development goal is directly related to women's rights. Until the world gets this right, none of the other goals can be met.

  • I'd be interested in seeing where they gathered their statistics from - the ones they cite in this video seem more like shock politics than reality.

  • This is a powerful video driving home the salient points of inequality on every level for women and children. How can we as a race of humans be all we can be when we are dragging women, children or men behind us in chains of inequality. What is keeping us from accomplishing this worthy goal? We certainly do not lack the resources, technology, manpower or the goodness to do so. Monjinou -The Naked Truth

  • Feminists seem to forget that all men aren't sports players or politicians. We are the ones who build railroads, clean out sewers, clean up waste, fight wars, etc. And all that for lower pay than most women's jobs.

  • 86 women can suck my cock.

  • this is a song for women and it supports you guys.. tell me what you think.... type in Fe'La iniko.... (I Am A WOman)

  • hahaha Bitches b crazy!

  • These are pretty standard statistics. They probably get them from research conducted by different UN bodies, IFIs, universities, and research institutes, etc. It can be shocking if it's your first time seeing these stats, but that's the reality. Nonetheless, all videos that include stats could benefit by including their sources to allow follow-up.

  • SO...YOU ARE ASKING MEN TO HELP ? HA !

  • I found a video which is about women making great strides towards equality in places like Iran, Somalia and Saudi Arabia.

    Here it is:

  • Love it . Great video . Love and light all ways

  • written in the declaration of human rights or acknowledged by humanity in general as basic human rights, cause, as i said before, history proved that only those who struggled to get their rights respected had their rights respected. in fact, there are women who reached positions of power (angela merkel, condoleeza rice etc.) they are the perfect example that opportunities are given to women these days, but only few of them are capable enough or ambitious enough. so where's the problem in the end
