johnmillercpainc I am curious if accounting is a stressful job. Is it a job where i can go home without stressing about work?

@SoDrigh In general, accounting is a very stressful job. However, accounting is a big field. There are many different areas where you can work. Public accounting is usually a lot more stressful and competitive than private accounting. Public accounting is where you work for a public accounting firm and perform work for the company's clients. Private accounting is where you perform accounting work for a company. While this can be stressful as well, it is not as stressful as public accounting.

Thanks for the vid. I'm 27, have recently decided that I am going back to school and accounting is something I want to pursue. I already have a Bachelors in IT so I figured I get a business skill so I can make myself a competive candidate.

@gj804 Accounting and computers make a very good combination. You will do very well with that.

@Tocororo411 It is never too late to persue something that you are interested in. Especially accounting. It is a great field. There is plenty of work. I am not sure what your current career is. However, accounting is great to combine with other careers. I am 51 and I went back to law school when I was 45 and I got my law degree when I was 49. I am now working on passing the California bar exam. The point is that it is never too late to do something. Accounting is a great field.
