While I love 2d side scroller RPGs.... Why can't they make one that isn't so colorful and kiddy looking!???

CAN WE PLEASE GET AN ADULT THEMED 2d side scrolling RPG with some gore and blood and DARK colors!??? Thank you!!

(And by 2d, I mean it's on a 2d plane, 3d graphics are fine, but 2d hand drawn would be even better!).
