American Express revives the Spinal Tap (or "Thamesmen") song "Gimme Some Money" for this commercial, apparently without any sense of irony.

Who are these lame posers who are playing this uncredited Tuffnel/St. Hubins song?

I just find it amusing that a credit card company is using a song called 'gimme some money' without any sense or irony.

Cover? You know, there are two different recordings of this song by Spinal Tap

Guest and McKean are obviously laughing about the fact that someone used this!

Well if this is a cover, then it is the best cover ever, by far. But still, they should've gone with Spinal Tap

Saw Spinal Tap live last weekend in Toronto and they played this song. That's how I heard about this commercial (they told us about it). They said it wasn't them playing the song which was surprising that AmEx hired a band to sound like them when they could have done it themselves! Hahaha
