Ultimate PlayStation (PSone): Mod-Chips and Region Locks

A short video on modding the PS1. Unlike my Ultimate Dreamcast series, this is a rather short look behind the restrictions of the system and how mod-chips defeated them.

If you want to build your own chip, you'll need a fitting PIC with 8 legs (12c508, 12c508a, 12c509 or 12c509a) and a PIC programmer to flash it with the designated hex code (MM3, OneChip, etc.). I also recommend using a stripboard, IC sockets and thin wires.

@VermillionDX Yes, you can! If you have a PSOne, you need Onechip. In the net you can find all the diagrams for intallation, but you could found an old Playstation chipped for a few bucks and plays with her! Cheers!
