I see a pain specialist and as soon as this happened, I worried about the effect it would have on the ability for people to get the medications they need.

Just as many people die from "acceptable" drugs as well, maybe more, we just don't hear about it because the stars can actually get meds that work. But if people were to look up the damage something like SSRIs are doing to people, they would be amazed. But we rarely hear a peep about those meds b/c they are given to every-day people.

There is a big difference between giving a friend a few pills than what Stern did.

Sorry but When you really love someone, you do not buy thousands of pills for them or liquid morphene for them to inject.

Howard had a plan, he almost pulled it off. Thanks to Larry Birkhead, he did not succeed but he did stuff his pockets.

The only private citizen that should have been charged was Anna Nicole, herself. She was the one double doctoring and seeking out drugs using aliases, even if Howard K. was the errand boy.

LadyM, IF Howard K Stern is convicted as a private citizen with charges that are usually reserved for health care practitioners it's going to set a very dangerous precedence. It will take away personal responsibility from the addict and make anyone in the addict's personal circle culpable.

I was around a lot of people when I was using, people that furnished me with drugs that I otherwise would not have had, but the decision to partake of those drugs, or not, ended at my person.

Quit trying to lay blame on others for someone's (in this case Anna Nicole's) actions. We are all responsible for what we do, and she chose to take these. To go after these doctors and not ALL doctors who ever prescribe pain medication is hypocrisy. Our state is out of budget to waste on this crap. You can't afford to incarcerate all of these "dangerous" drug criminals....Stop the insanity!

Ironic, Anna died the day before her sons Inquest?

Stern could not allow Anna to go to the Inquest because once the Bahamian Officials told her what they knew, She would have tossed Stern in the street like the lap dog that he was.Stern kept her loaded until she died. Squandered her money after Daniel died.
