Great performance, how do you step into Carl Wilson's shoes and do a fantastic job? Ask Chris Farmer.

@alienhuman not at all

@britinabq the funny part though is according to rumors, there's no spot for christian in the reunion starting in april
-
@gsgeek540 Big time politics, Mike is giving Christian all the decent songs and slowly edging everyone else out. That comes FIRST hand.

i get why adrian baker and mike kowalski were kicked out of the band. It's a shame that Chris farmer had to go though with Christian coming aboard
-
do Mike and Bruce do virtually anything in this version? It seems to be all the bassist and drummer. Nice sound but lame that the actual "beach boys" seem to be background vocals at best.
-
@npwd It's a tribute band... nothing more.
-
@alienhuman No just appreciate good musicianship.
-
@npwd You must be a relative.

John Cowsill is on drums here. At least he knows how to play all the Beach Boys songs at the right tempo and the correct way unlike that other guy they had!!

I went to High School with Chris, and was in a band with him briefly back then.
Would love to hear from Chris again someday.

This song is one that many different band members have sung lead on. When it first came out in 1979, Carl Wilson sang the lead. Dennis Wilson gave it a try at least once in concert. Mike Love sang the lead on a telethon performance. In more recent years, Brian Wilson has sung it at his concerts, and Chris Farmer, John Stamos, and Christian Love have all tried it out. I also have a video with John singing the lead. Check it out!
