Watch us demolish a house in Leicester in under half an hour! The existing property is a dilipidated property built in the 1940's with a half finished red brick extension on the back. We took the extension down first as it had no roof or obstructions. We then took the garage down and this video shows the rest of the house being demolished. I have detailed planning permission in place for a 5,500 sq ft luxury detached property to be built on this 1.55 acre plot of land in the Leicestershire countryside. John - we originally planned to refurbish this property however, the previous owner had made such a botched job of the construction we had no choice but to demolish. The roof was starting to sag because structural supports had been removed, the foundation for an unfinished extension at the back had not been formed properly and many more problems. When the demolition team arrived they refused to enter the house to salvage material in case something fell down on top of them
