  • I am familiar with most of Elvis songs and still think that too much is made of him . That is my opinion . I also respect other peoples opinion . You disagree with me - that's fine . I have checked and am told again by reliable sources that BJ was offered and RECORDED the song before Elvis . Maybe you are talking release dates . Anyway there 's no more to say . Elvis needs no hype from fans he's already the most famous ever - BJ needs all the compliments he can get as HE is very UNDERRATED !!!.

  • @1972Mazza No Elvis recorded this song in 1969 when it was given to him by producer Chip Moman when it failed the original singer/songwriter Mark James aka Francis Jambon! Then in the following year your man B.J Thomas recorded but it didn't do as well as Elvis who your are callin a fluke and undeserving of his worldwide attention! Go listen to some suspicious minds or Elvis' earlier recordings, the twelfth of never or even the American trilogy or maybe take a tour of graceland!

    cheers m8!

  • @Zecalran \ I understand that B J recorded it first . If he didn't then I'm being informed wrongly by industry sources . I don't put Elvis down but I don't think he is worth all the hysteria . He's ok but not the amazing phenomenon he's been made into . On the other hand BJ deserves a much bigger status than he has - some of that is his own fault mindyou .

  • @1972Mazza Actually BJ covered this song January 1970 and Elvis did his August 1969! So BJ did it one year later but both are still very good versions while it flopped for the originator of the song itself Mark James who sang it in 1968 before it was given to Elvis Presley ur putting down here! Elvis didn't just have looks he had the talent as well and you can see that in his last concert in 1977! He didn't look like the Elvis anymore but he was putting on a great show for his audiences n fans!

  • It is a case of Elvis sang a B J Thomas song - B J was first with this song - also Always on my mind - Just can't help Believin and afew other . They were B J's first and he also did them better but Elvis just got all the lucky breaks and hysterical following . B J for what it is worth was also much more handsome than Elvis not that that is what it should be about but was a real singer not like Elvis going for the commercial - BJ just did his thing and didn't care in those days .

  • @ElvisFreak77

Actually the songs you hear that they both recorded, B.J. recorded first. Elvis used to comment on his shows that somehow B.J. Thomas always got the first jump on the songs he wanted to record. B.J. made them big hits as did Elvis. But Elvis wanted the song first and never got it. He liked B.J. and respected his talent and work ethic.

  • Awesome! Totally....... Awesome!

  • awesome

  • great voice almost as good as the king , gonna have to get a bj cd i think
