One of the key components under the hood is the more powerful Ambarella A5s chip. This is a an upgrade from the previous Ambarella A2s. It's still amazing that these chips can pack even more power!

Note, this package did not come with a composite cable.

Gopro said 3d sync wouldn't work when hero2 and hero original were mixed. Thanks for testing this.

At this point all I know is that they both turned on. I haven't verified that the files yet. But I would imagine there will be some drastic differences between the images which would not make for good 3D. I'm going to use this for side by side testing though.

@keithhopkin I can imagine that the 3d view won't be perfect because of the color & light difference between both cameras but I expected that GoPro would change the firmware to make it impossible to sync the different cameras.
