I had a starter clutch issue.

So, I bought a new starter clutch, and internal parts for it.

It would start if the bike was warm enough. Warm enough meant that it would have to be stored in side.

Once I fixed the starter clutch, it wouldn't start.

Someone suggested plugs, another timing. I changed the plugs, nothing. It must be timing.

So, I put the old starter clutch in, with new internal parts. Wham, I've got a bike again!

Outdoor work is done basically on my front porch, indoor work is done in Trauma/Chris's shop.

  • mrfirewolf, it didn't jump timing. it was installed improperly, which caused the timing to be off...of course, that was like 2 and a half years ago, lol. that bike is looonnngggg gone.

  • the battery and I had some major fights. I recharged it countless times, then replaced it and recharged the replacement. I'm super glad that bike is gone now...my 2008 sv650 makes me a super happy camper.
