Hey! I can't assure it, but it looks like thy are using the common rules for a sword duel. If you can read French, they are written in a fencing manual from 1875. "L'Ecole de l'Escrime" by J.A. Blot, pages 103-114. Write me and give me your mail address if you want me to give you that passage in the book.
