he is the man, I cant even ski!! You guys know if you run into people like this, and you have questions. Go up and talk to them, I am shure they much prefer honest questions, than people just staring at them. Teach you kid or tell your friends, dont make fun of handicapped or disabled people, that aint cool man. Peace

@Taaliaaful He is on a respirator to help him breathe.

@Taaliaaful Jake had a progressive neuromuscular disability which affected his peripheral nerves. The respirator is a non-invasive ventilation system, it is an alternative to the more common tracheal ventilation systems. It functions the same way as an endotracheal tube, forcing air into the lungs, but it is less invasive and much more comfortable. They don't work for everyone but the people who use them tend to be strong proponents.

@RebelRay Jake used a positive pressure face mask to fill his lungs with oxygen while sleeping.
