This 13 minute short film, created by the Jewish Genetic Disease Consortium (JGDC) will be an integral part of the JGDCs ongoing educational programs. It is designed to help achieve our goals of educating and creating awareness about Jewish genetic diseases, and the the necessity for all Jews to be tested in order to greatly reduce the frequency of these tragic disorders.

Wait a minute...in one breath, the girl's father calls her a giant and congratulates her courage and motivation and in the next he's saying it's a moral obligation for married couples to get genetic testing so that they can "prevent the problem". We are not yet at the point of curing most genetic diseases. All we can do is know about them and treat them. Is he suggesting that, were Rivke born now, he would have his wife terminate the pregnancy upon discovering their child had Bloom's?
