This was my first concert (Hofheinz Pavilion, University of Houston, 4 pm show). I will never tire of this song as well as Bye Bye, Johnny & the rest of the songs played on this tour. I have seen them many times since, but some times it seems like just another stop on the tour. Not in 1972 - the emphasis was on newer material, not the hits from the early years, and they played hard (check out All Down the Line from this show). They did play Bye Bye Johnny from their ep from 1964!

At their peak (1969-72), the Rolling Stones were a miraculously great band.

I think he is talking to Mick Taylor...who was on the other side of Mick.

As much as I love Linda R and Waddy wailin this song I do believe this is one of the best versions I 've heard of Tumbling Dice. Of course seeing Linda's cute little ass makes her version awfully hard to beat.
