Add depth when using still images in your videos. You need Adobe Photoshop and Sony Vegas. Its all done with keyframe editing and layer masks. its a hands on process... there is no plugin for this.

  • This is a fantastic effect. How did you do it??

  • Its a careful setup... the photo needs to be "cut" into 2 layer masks... foreground and background.

The background then needs to be air brushed slightly to fill the gaps left by cutting the subject away for the image.

Then the 2 layers are blended in Sony Vegas and the Pan&Crop tool is used to create the illusion of motion...

  • This isn't ken burns but it is good to know you can do this with a picture. With video this is called a 'zolly' shot. FYI

  • Love it!

I'll have to try this out.

    Love it.

(I use Kdenlive in Linux - this is NOT to compare the two programs, just that that is where I'll be trying this out :))

  • how long does it typically take to keyframe something like that ? 15-20 mins ?

  • not really ken burns But Better ( I think )

  • Thanks for that - I'll have to have a try!!
