  • i watch this video because i saw the lady in thumbnail

  • This feels to me like just the beginning of Japan encorporating smartphone OSes into their high-level phone hardware. I guess this is a good-enough start. Not great, but good enough.

  • @LancerJak android is the best well ios iphone is the best but you get the idea

    its not easy to make a new one plus you need a market and programme alot of staff

    its easy by just using android

  • Watching the guy slide his finger over the phone I can't help notice some lag. With as smart as Japanese people are, why are they using Android? Can't they make their own operating system? Not hating but I'm just really curious about this.

  • android aaaaaauuuuuuuuuu

  • can we plz stop having 30 sec WP7 commercials in Android videos, doesnt make sense...

  • @surruk Actually, I just swap when I am in the states. Yeah, I have to pay for two plans, but I frequent both countries.

  • @MrShirokame

    yeah, you live in japan though right? (makes me jealous :P ) so you have the AU KDDI sim / plan and use roaming right? unfortunately for us living outside japan, we cant do that, you need permanent residency in japan (or at least a alien registration card or whatever it it now) to legally get a phone :(

    also, still doesnt help me because i live in Australia, no CDMA here ;_;

  • @surruk Wrong, you can use it on any network that uses CDMA. I frequently travel between Japan and America, and can use it on either networks. No unlocking or jailbreaking required.

  • @SneakyMrPanda Nah, they have been doing it for a long time in other companies. This is just an AU first. Other phone companies over here (Japan) have had vastly superior smartphones for a long time.

  • @monyki7

    then you would get a rather handicapped phone. as a kietai (japanese mobile phone) this is locked to the network it was produced for (in this case, AU KDDI) unlocking these phones is complex, requires a hypersim (aswell as all the negative aspects that entails), and even if done right does not enable packet data services. you get a 2G call / text phone. dont get me wrong, i love japanese phones, i have 5 infact, but they have many limitations and i wouldn't recommend them to people.

  • @bennyboyhead

    The CMOS/CCD gap is getting closer all the time, though. While it's true that CCD still performs better in small form factors, CMOS is showing some real advantages over CCD in larger form factors.
