No, you can use only digital zoom, but if you want to use optical zoom, you have to do it BEFORE recording. But, while recording you can't unzoom, instead of that, you can use digital zoom...

@neallasta Dude, he did it on purpose. It has to be compact to fit on youtube, thats the whole point of having a compact mode!

You accidentally turned the dial and switched it to compact mode. Thus the poor video quality.

no... you can see in video you just can use 4. digital zoom while u record before recording shure you can use zoom
