For the most part sailing a sloop rigged (main sail & jib) catamaran is like sailing a sloop rigged monohull. There are a few differences though. Cats don't tack quite as easily as monohulls. So you usually have to let the jib backwind a bit to get bow through the eye of the wind, and loosen the main to prevent it from "weather vaning" your boat in irons. Also, you get to "fly a hull" on cats; and beach them, rather than dock or anchor them. They're usually faster too.
