@zog9 I`m not going to speculate what exactly is wrong with him here - drugs or alcohol - but I would guess he at this point had a drug or alcohol dependency so extreme he sometimes had to settle for what he could get, rather than what he preferred. And that he on this occation had have entered into his system drugs or alcohol of sort/s he wasn`t accustomed too - and either had too much - or didn`t achieve the level of intoxication he would need to feel comfortable. Dangerous slope.

Check his video singing Shout About in concert 1992. 1993 was the year he released his 3rd album, his first ever classy album. So I mean 1992-1993. For 1993 there's video of All Around The World on TOTP.

I don`t know what to say about this, honestly. To me he looks, and acts, drunk or drugged. Luckily for him his voice doesn`t sound it, but the rest of him - all over the place. His focus and presence is so so in this performance. If I had been the producer, this never would have been televised.

@Tvjunkieful12 He does look like he's not really in the performance i'll give you that. It wasn't televised as far as i know, unless you count the huge screens in Hyde Park for the people further back.

Most hilarious performance of the day, he had a bit of dribble on his bottom lip and you could see him singing it from the autocue at some points. But absolutely brilliant version :D
