This is a rough remake of Deadmau5's "Strobe", that appears on his new album For Lack of a Better Name which dropped September 22nd.

Made using only Ableton Live Lite 7, Propellerhead Reason, and Native Instruments Massive.
Because Live Lite limits you to 8 tracks and 4 audio plug-ins, I was forced to be a little resourceful.

Zipped MIDI files for you guys: http://bit.ly/strobemidi
Preset overviews: http://twitpic.com/irg2c (lead) - http://twitpic.com/irgrt (sub bass) - http://twitpic.com/irjfu (main bass)

  • what are the disadvantages of having Lite edition rather than live?please answer!

  • @adam12345678891023 Live Lite limits you to 8 midi/audio tracks and 4 audio plug-ins total. Also, imported audio files/samples need to be converted to WAV in advance.

  • Can I get the combinator files!

  • @AliveP00l I have preset files and RSN files linked in the [UPDATE] video on my channel. :)

  • @SherbiXXX remaking songs is a great way to teach yourself how to do the techniques that the producer of the original song used, and can boost your confidence when you realise that you can achieve the same sounds as any multi-million-album-selling producer can.

  • @infinite5150 i was too. when i discovered ableton and its simplicity esp for house music. i am sold. havent touched reason in a while. IMO reason was relaly good fro hiphop but the sound/banks werent just cutting it for me. though alor danse was made on reason

  • im still trying to figure ableton out...im a reason 3-4-5 guy.

  • @P0cketfull0fsunshine True, but the quality of this isn't a scratch on the original.
