Film encompasses individual motion pictures, the field of film as an art form, and the motion picture industry. Films are produced by recording images from the world with cameras, or by creating images using animation techniques or special effects.Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating — or indoctrinating — citizens. The visual elements of cinema gives motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue.Traditional films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement. The origin of the name "film" comes from the fact that photographic film (also called film stock) had historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, photo-play, flick, and most commonly, movie. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema, and the movies... Preceding film by thousands of years, plays and dances had elements common to film, scripts, sets, costumes, production, direction, actors, audiences, storyboards, and scores...- Those elements (in Plays and dance) are the main layers behind the success of films. depending on each layer being perfectly set, the whole assemblage becomes a real Art work...- One of them is 'actors' and they play as much as other elements, a great part in the success of the film. The actors have to be very very carefully chosen to make sure it will achieve and comes to enhance the sense (meaning) that lays behind the whole film... Each layer is to unveil the same concept... each layer in its own way, either the score (music) for example comes to dramatize a scene or the enhance what is already in it... usually it brings the emotion out of it in a way it duplicates the emotional experience in a film... - The script is there to say loud what the character think to makes the public participate to their own experience and makes us more likely to identify with a heroe or heroine!... The costume are there to bring their own share of beauty too, as we may be astonished and emotionally amazed by some colors, shapes or beautiful garments etc... or a specific style that enhance the natural beauty of the main actor/actress - But the actors are in themself a whole thing, if not the major concern for a film Director in a film. They are his own 'palette' to create an Artwork that has no equal in this world... they are his treasure so is Nicole Kidman and hugh Jackman in the recent film AUSTRALIA... so is George Clooney for example in O BROTHER WHERE ARE YOU etc... so are so many Stars in their most fabulous films , Liz Taylor, Russel Crowe, Charlton Heston, and so many other who shine above the stars... - So stars and co-stars are the main concern in the hand of the Artist who is the Film Director when in relation to Films...- They are to create the atmosphere and make the emotion take place (if well chosen) or not (if no real chemistry between them)...... Nicole KIDMAN in AUSTRALIA is fabulously true in her Love for the litle Child. we believe her as if it was really her - there is no doubt we feel her love as real and true... we are sure she is not acting but we know it's herself... Jakman the same way is real in his acting. we can't think he is acting as we see him as himself, as his Love for Nicole Kidman in the film seems so real and true! This is when acting take a new dimension and becomes and appears so real that theyare not actors/tress anymore they are not even stars, they have become truly adored...Truly worshiped for their amazong performances as if they were already gods!!! That is Cinema and the magic of it! ...REVIEW©JAN 05 2008. JR FOR HDTVNEWS.

  • nicole and george... perfection ♥

  • wen I heard that nicole was an 'ice queen'. I saw her on interviews and other stuff and I just never really get how that came about, I just think she's shy. I'm not a fan of nicole's really but I don't dislike her either. I loved moulin rouge. but in hollywood and almost everywhere now days, if u r a strong, opinionated woman who will speak her mind or doesn't like media then yea as always u become a 'bitch' to them cuz they don't get wat they want.

  • He is a disaster, the twelve steps were given to a doctor who literally begged God to help him at his kitchen table. He then was inspired to right them down using his non -dominant left hand and he was not ambidextrous. One of those steps is "came to believe a power greater then myself can restore me to sanity. Modern medicine still offers no known cure and not a single step has changed from how they were originally written. They post only the times for their meetings and together remain sober.

  • GODDESS

  • And to think that Nicole has somehow garnered a reputation as the "Ice Queen." She truly is a joyous and down to earth person
