Here is my second time using the Econo Prowler from EliteFTS.com. A few friends had asked me what in the world this thing was and what it was used for, so a video seemed like an easy approach.

Note to self: Try not to severely cut back on caffeine intake and then try to use a Prowler. The headache that ensues (captured wonderfully in this video) is a complete bear. Yeesh.

  • any idea what a good weight to start out with is?

  • @garan1234 I warm up with just the sled and no weight and then work my way up by going with 90 lbs on it for the next set and then 140 or 160 for my top weights. You really don't need a ton of weight on it, especially on asphalt, especially if you are pushing it hard. I would say if you have never used it, bring 2 25lb plates and 2 45lb plates. See what works for ya!

  • @KevinKuzia thanks for the info, i just got mine yesterday, cant wait to use it

  • @garan1234 Very welcome and enjoy. I do love mine as well. I tend to use it for pushing down and back and then I attach some Blast Straps to pull it (forwards and backwards) down and back. You get some nice variety in and the pulling seems to do a nice job keeping my knees in good shape.

  • The water does not help with the frictional coefficient at all. Trust me I use mine in my wet driveway all the time. I always feel like my heart is coming through my chest. The worse is when you push it on the grass and hit a rabbit hole and the sled decides to not want to slide anymore. The headaches are from the blood pressure rapidly increasing. lol

    Good video!

  • @JoshSonsiadekDC Yeah, it was just bad alllll around, Josh! Haven't had that kind of headache since (but I have also not had the raising blood pressure + lack of caffeine either).

  • hey man nice job you really got to push yourself though at the end i do this almost everyday for football cause i am in highschool and we start of with that weight and move up to two 45 and a 25 on each side. I know they suck but you just got to push yourself. nice vid.

  • @EDtheIslander Yeah, it's really quite a different beast all together. Need to get this in for tomorrow AM.

  • That a workout Kev? lol.I tried one sometime back and man I had no Idea the type of workout....Gotta get me one. Thanks for posting.

  • @simpsonbball10 They do scuff up a bit, but I haven't had a need to replace them as of yet. I have thought about getting a back-up set just incase because I have done the pushes on wet pavement (as in the video) and in the snow. The only problem with doing that is that some rust can build up... which then get rubbed off with more pushes, but believe me... it makes it A LOT harder to push!
