  • My pawpaw wrote this song:)

  • Sure love "Six Days", but my Dudley fave, "Last Day in the Mines", is nowhere on sight on the tube.

    Please, somebody.

  • @TheEldoradoKid This song originally released in 1963, written by Carl Montgomery and Earl Green from Muscle Shools Sound Studio.

  • He says 6 three times to end the song. Good song though.

  • Taking little white pills and my eyes are open wide! LOL Mini-thins

  • @flashbell Chill out!

  • @raginroadrunner Sorry, not quite that long ago. Six Days on the Road came out about '65 or '66. A lot of the things mentioned were still in place through the early 80s. The Feds finally de-commissioned Route 66 back in '84 I believe, and the I.C.C. (Interstate Commerce Commission) went out soon after that. The "Trucking Culture" classic period was from the 1950s into the late 80s / early 90s when it became very difficult for independent drivers to make a living, but yet we are still here...

  • Where'd you get that picture of Dave? I met him when I was about 16 or 17. He was a nice guy. I love this song.
