Purgason Comments on Ford Legislation

www.purgasonforsenate.com - Democrat Governor Jay Nixon just called a special legislative session to try to push through a Missouri version of the Federal Bail Out Bills. Despite incredible pressure from both sides of the aisle, US Senate candidate Senator Chuck Purgason, stood in the gap and did not bring this legislation to the floor.

Senator Purgason is Chair of the Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight Committee, and the $150 million dollar bill had to come through this committee before it could get to the floor. Purgason said, "The really sad part about it is, they made it sound as if it were a tax credit. The truth is, the government is forcing small businesses and the Missouri taxpayer to subsidize large businesses. Giving tax credits to one individual company, and not to all businesses in a given industry, is just the government choosing the winners and losers in our state. We can not favor one company over other companies at taxpayer expense and say it's free market."
