What's more unfortunate is that you'll miss out on a lot of wonderful things in life because of your hate-colored glasses. For example, you immediately dismiss the show because you can't see past the gay character in the Captain's Chair.
And for the record, there have only been two gay characters introduced into the show, so your assumption that ALL are gay just further suggests that you never finished, or never payed attention to, the remainder of the episode.

I can't believe that this guy stalks us everywhere we're at and makes the same inane and nonsensical comments. Your comments are sexist & the fact that you bounce around from Trek site-to-Trek site slamming the shows with gay characters DOES make you a homo-phobe and a spreader & spewer of sexual hatred... Whether you know it or not.

I cannot believe that this page is not clogged with comments! I am SO geeked about this!! My pal Justin Hayward has a bit part in this program. Cannot wait to see him in uniform!
Is that a Voyager Class starship? The theme music is wonderful! Man, I am pumped! Okay, I'll calm down now...
i saw this on their website. all i can say is the only straight starfleet personel in the 24th century must come from scotland

So, you've never heard Gene Roddenberry Jr. talk about the fact that his father wanted to have gay characters in TNG and that it was the studio that told him no? Bashing our vision of the future by having openly gay characters therefore is bashing the heart of what Trek truly is. In many ways we are helping to bring Gene's true vision to life.
I would recommend that if you don't care for our portrayal of the future, that you just don't watch.
Thank you for your feedback..

roddenberry spoke of A gay character in tng, but i don't recall him wanting an overall gay undertone or even for that matter any real romantic undertones throughout any ST. i just don't recall any other captain blowing a kiss to a lover. besides, wouldn't you want to bring a little something different to the table from 'hidden frontier'.

So.. In the 24th Century you truly believe that Gay and Lesbian people would still not be treated like anyone else would? Starfleet's own "Don't ask don't tell"?
Did you object when they made Captain Sisko African American and then in Voyager made the Captain a woman?
I think we do bring something different than HF in that we have an openly gay Captain which up until this point hasn't been done. By that I mean a Captain that wasn't given his command through battlefield promotion..

who said anything about treating gays differently, or even objecting.any kind of -phobia or -ism should be discarded to keep in tune with roddenberry's vision and even today. my only point, it has been done to the point where it's as interesting as going out of your way of making the point that human blood is red.sure, i have no problem with homosexuality, my real concern is that hypersensitivity to a little criticism and victimization will be gone by the 24th century, or better yet tomorrow.

Maybe the art of giving people constructive criticism will be perfected by then too..
