If religion were simply moronic, I wouldn't worry about it. If it were, I would say let the morons drink deeply of their Jesus juice and live in blissful ignorance. But religion is not simply moronic, it's dangerous. Religious dogma has had a deeply detrimental effect on the lives of countless people, whether they believe in this nonsense or not, and it's about time it stopped. Many thanks to Sam Harris for articulating this point so eloquently in his books and speeches!

love you sam!

Damn. This guy is one classy mo-fo.

@whitietothe - if you liked that one, check out the 'credibility of miracles' video. That one fellated my mind.

@memoryburn7 HaHaHa!! Hitchens and his "punk rock . . . drunken assholery" is a BRILLIANT remark! Between that, Harris' perfectly poised points to ponder, and the spicy vitriol of Dawkins (sadly absent from this event), the devastating repudiation of religion becomes a very bitter pill to swallow! It all comes down to logic and reason about the world around us -vs- blind faith in an iron age book of dubious origin.

@William00048 you're exactly right, although there is something punk rock about hitchens and his drunken assholery...sam still wins by a large margin.

Harris is almost always more paced and soft-spoken than this. It may be that the format of the event pushed him to be a little more forceful. Interesting to see him in that context.

Sam HARRIS is by far the best of the 4 horsemen. I like HITCHENS but his speech pattern invites interruption, then he continues roughshod over people. His pugnacious approach closes down discourse. Sam' s un-threatening approach delivers the knife to the heart of the matter. Dawkin's does great work with his foundation but I really don't like the BRIGHT idea. I like PEARList, Physical Evidence and Reasoned Logic. Dannett is very clever but has the bumbling Prof about him.

I meant to give thumbs up, my bad. Total agreement!!!

Personally I think Harris is the most eloquent and profound of the speakers. I love Dawkins, Hitchens, and Dennette, but Harris is on a different level when it comes to precision and clarity.
is there a way to watch these in order? i can't find a few clips, they're scattered
