@classicvinylbiz Yes indeed, although you will not see the technical difference between Gelber and the above interpreter: Gelber plays WITH the piano, as Gerstein seems to do it AGAINST the instrument . . . Of course this is rather difficult to understand, but at first sight (or listening), few ot these gifted players (Horowitz, Lipatti, G. Gould, Argerich, Kissin), step forward for their sound performance, which redounds in a perfect pedal technike . . .

This is not just a youth orchestra. Is probably one of the best orchestras in the world. Although the sound here is not the best.
-
@sonata1992 Well, they're really not a youth orchestra in the strict sense.... that's a misnomer that became popular in the West. Lots of young players, alright (and the camera focus almost exclusively on them, for some reason).

My favorite concerto, along with Busoni's! Thanks for uploading. This is a very good orchestra, especially for a youth orchestra, but hey, Dudamel is conducting, so what do you expect? ;)

@BachFong11 It is you that sucks.

A fine performance indeed! I highly recommend this 1967 recording by then-26 year old Argentinian pianist Bruno-Leonard Gelber:

If you want to hear german music done by Dudamel, look up Eroica, Marche Funebre. The not so excitable german audience went wild. Find it on youtube. Its there.
This is absolutely stunning. I can hardly believe that's even a youth orchestra...
