@violetfieldflorence Two scenes that capture that very well is where Hamlet confronts Laertes at Ophelia's burial and the other is when Hamlet sees his father's ghost and his mother doesn't a few minutes after Polonius' death. Kenneth's acting in the entire film is amazing, but those two parts make me cry every time.

@jh4everl I don't know....I was amazed at the sheer blondeness of his hair here, it makes me wonder
It is cool :D

is branagh naturally blond like that? his hair is simply ineffably cool. :DDD

Respect to all of them and special is the way Branagh almost sings with the music of Elgar, a kind of rap. He is a genious! Wessel Veenstra (NL)

@agapelloauthor Naaah. 30ish would have been considered old in those days because people only lived to be about 40. Hamlet is said to be a young man, so he'd probably be more in his late teens or early 20s. But I think Kenneth Branagh pulls it off all the same :)
Branagh is a master. Critics may abound on both sides but his Hamlet conveys the mind, bounded spirit, and the is-he-or-is-he-not-mad personality that breathes from the text. To say the least, this is not 'plain acting.'
