In total, this took around 120 hours to render. So, I rendered it out as a JPG sequence over the course of about 3 weeks at night while I slept, then re-rendered that JPG sequence out as an h.264 video once the entire thing was complete.

Done entirely in Adobe After Effects with no 3rd party plugins at all.

  • why would you render as jpeg sequence first? not go straight to mp4? im kinda new to this.

  • @JustSamples Because it took so long to render, and I needed to use the computer it was rendering on during the daytime.

So, I left it rendering a chunk of the JPG sequence overnight, each night for about 2 weeks. Once the whole JPG sequence was rendered out, it took very little time to turn those into an H.264.
