Dave Carroll is half-right. Why should you pay for it at all when these companies give it away for free in the first place?
That's what having a TV broadcast license is all about. The cable company shouldn't charge anything for those stations (except to maintain your line) and CTV et al shouldn't see a dime either unless they stop broadcasting their signal for free.
(I lost all respect for Dave Carroll due to this song, BTW.)

I remember this song as being a commercial.. Good times, back when commercials were funny, not just mind numbingly boring like they mostly are now a days

Years ago I live in town and had cable. They kept raising the price so one day I called and told them to disconnect. I got switched to three different people who all tried to talk me into staying on by offering extras. Finally, I told the third person I would not be paying the bill any longer and they asked," WHY"? I told them I was tired of price hikes every two months and hung up.
I now have a nice big antenna on the side of the house and watch TV for free.
BYE BYE CABLE....

Rogers = CityTV
Shaw = GlobalTV
CTV = Bell , oh sorry, they use to own them. :P
CBC = Telus , lol
As you can see the tv and cable companies are either ripping themselves off or ripping you off.

Never trust the cable company.
How can it be fair for cable to pay for american channels but not our own?
I cant rebroadcast copyrighted works for free, why should the cable company have that right?
