Pianist Vestard Shimkus performs Etude op.25 No.10 in b minor by Frederic Chopin.
Recorded live during the first round at the 55th Maria Canals International Piano Competition, March 2009. Shimkus won the 1st prize and the audience prize.
Pianist and composer Vestard Shimkus (*1984) was born in Latvia and began gaining international recognition after performances with BBC Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Borodin Quartet, Isabelle van Keulen, Czech Philharmonic and KREMERata Baltica with conductors Andris Nelsons, Lawrence Foster, Vassily Sinaisky and others.
Winner of several international piano competitions.

@ruckaisawesome now that i have listened to his performance again, (and with fresh... ears) i must admit that i was wrong; it's a very good performance. And he probably didn't win this competition for no reason lol.
