@wakablam You have a point, however the Philosopher's Stone isn't something JK made up herself, its ingrained in our legend. For a long time, it was the most sought-after goal in Western alchemy, meditated upon by alchemists like Sir Isaac Newton, Nicolas Flamel, and Frater Albertus. (She based Flamel of a real person of the same name, but sought the same thing, presumably they are the same person.)
