The Carpatho-Rusyns are the direct descendants of one of these Slavic tribes that has lived along the Uz River called the White Croats (Bilyj Horvaty). By the 900s, waves of Slavic settlers calling themselves Rus' came from the East and began settling into the Carpathians, intermarrying and assimulated with the White Croats

White Croats (Ukrainian mountaineers - Lemkos are direct offshoot descendants of White Croats) The Lemki originate from the White Croats, a tribe that had settled in the Balkans in VI—VII centuries. What is agreed upon is that Slavic people have lived in the Carpathian region as early as the sixth century AD.

No wonder Pennsylvania, USA is 'novokarpati', look at this video (between 0:59-1:11) and see land that looks the same. Slava Isuzu Hristos, Slava Naviki, mykhajlo

Mykhajlo: actually that video of the land is just some of my video from visiting my relatives village in Slovakia, sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing. But you are right, there are some areas in PA (nearby Johnstown, etc.) that look similar to the Carpathians. - Olivia
