This scene is so damn BEAUTIFUL!!! Perfect example of how anime makes art out of violence. Love this film.
When she gets torn to pieces, I feel sad and at the same time exhilarated. It's hard to explain why. And I know that a great many men find this scene erotic. Hell, I understand them.

the weapons+tank deisgner and action sequence are from a time where production artists knew their stuff. no fancy neon lights or fancy unnecessary explosions. Pure military efficiency+ realistic futurism+ ballet combat sequence. Some kind of combat poetry.
