@aygachu I know. George (from the original timeline where he didn't die on the Kelvin) actually appears in a number of the TOS novels. In one of them (it's called Final Frontier), he ends up on the Enterprise's very first mission as the first officer and actually gives the ship her name. =D

@Machdude I agree, and the kind of role he got was important, too. He got to show he could do both good drama and portray a strong-yet-emotional, take-charge leader type, and also, although his part was only in the first 10 minutes of the film, the heroic sacrifice his character performs really leaves an impression. It was a small role, but for Chris as an actor it was exactly what he needed. I wish him further luck in his career!

I was just going threw a Chris Pines obsession and I remember watching this movie and going this guys it so handsome (Chris Hemsworth) and now after watching Thor Im going threw a Chris Hemsworth obsession and im freaking out that that was he he just looks totally different with out long hair.

Actually, for him it is. Chris was a relative nobody when he got the role so its what got him into the spotlight. That role gave him the boost he needed to make it into the big leagues.
