Nikon 50mm 1.8 AF-S

I tested this lens and was very impressed. Its auto focus speed and accuracy exceed that of the similar Canon 50mm 1.8 Nikon fans will rejoice in finally having an affordable 50mm 1.8 that can work on entry level bodies. But is $250 dollars affordable. About 100 dollars more than its competitor. As far as video is concerned this lens is great. Hardly any auto focusing noise and quite fast as well.

I usually shoot in aperature priority.

Yup. I say that all the time. Sometimes I do videos without the external mic so that people can hear the lens noise.

@photosummit yes. its normal that your cam makes noise if it has Af(if its a DSLR) but you can get rid of the noise if you put an external mic on it(its possible for this nikon) and if you want to take good videos you have to you external mics anyways...

Canon doesn't have lens noise because canon doesn't have fulltime auto focus in video. And if you do press the * button while in video, you will here alot of noise while its focusing.

hence why you'll want an external mic when using this lens.
