Let's see... six hours of sleep, fourteen hours of work, it's 6:10 am and there is only one thing to do. Make a fool of myself! The weapons are made from bamboo plant-stakes and duct tape.

No, I do not have any formal training... or any training at all for that matter other than the occasional game of *whack!*-DAMN! with my friends. (Nor do I have speed, agility, footwork, balance... ... ...)

If you have tips feel free to give them.

Songs:
1) Above the rising falls (kingdom hearts soundtrack)
2) Secret dance (2 the ranting gryphon.)
3) Ultimate cell saga (DJ Optic- a friend of mine)

  • With your Halberd: Your doing too much with your arms. Let your body weight, gravity and momentum do the work for you.

2 weapons (one reversed): Don't cross your arms so much. the best practical application i find is to fight normally as would with one hand, off hand used for counters.

  • Thanks for the tips. I've been discovering that though the whole spinwheel thing looks cool it isn't very practical. At least against a fighter that doesn't get intimidated by it.

  • nice video 5 stars

got a tip for you try what you are doing with a blindfold

at slower speed off course :)

once you get the feel of knowing where your weapon is

    without seeing it

you'll be able to strike with more power precision and speed without a blindfold

    take care!

  • That's a good idea. Especially because I have come to notice that I depend on my eyes for balance as well. Even when I'm just walking I find myself drifting to one side or the other rather than going in a straight line.

YAY! Another video idea! (Oh, and I'm subbing to your channel too. I've seen a vid or two and I likes what you got!)

  • This is so cool, bamboo weapons NICE!.

Staffs are always my favorite weapons, simple yep powerful.

I take it that this is the few minutes of crazy that a lack of sleep brings before you crash lol

Fight young Spiritrunner & may the power of the dragon always flow within.

  • Hehe thanks mate! Though I admit letting it flow within is the easy part. Getting it to flow without as well can be a bit tricky sometimes. You know how it goes- the body can never keep up with the ego.

Uhh... Especially when you're all lazy like me. ¬_¬

  • Spin wheel would be effective with the halberd if you put your shoulders into it. What i mean is it *looks* like your trying too hard to put the weapon into motion with your arms. Let your shoulders and hips do some of the work. They are much stronger.

Spinning two blades (with one reversed) not so much.

After watching the video again i have another pointer for the halberd. Ground yourself a little more. Theres a lot of unnecessary steps being taken and it appears to trip you up.

  • haha we are one of a kind my friend. ^-^

  • ...And we'd be going full strength/speed. Heh there's a reason the armory (A box in the back of the truck I owned at the time) was referred to as the bin of pain ^_^.

  • All of the weapons are made from bamboo plant stakes (The bundles you can get from garden centers in five foot sticks) wrapped in duct tape with padding on the tip for thrusts. (Which is why the tips look all lumpy)

They're crude in appearance but have a mostly-accurate weight and are also cheap to make. They're actually pretty durable too and can take a hell of a whalloping. When I used to be able to get together with friends and spar for hours on end they'd still last a good month.
