The fella who was gracious enough to allow us to visit the Natural Bridge on jis property entertained us with a panther yarn. I use yarn to add flavor because I have heard enough of these stories over the years to believe they are in most cases true. I don't doubt for a moment that this good man actually saw a black-panther in these hills.
I came across a track just three years ago way back in the woods near the Lone-Star area. It was on the sandy bank of a creek and fresh. It eas the size of a saucer at least and undeniably a cat-track as opposed to a dog-track.
It's my closest encounter with the phantom-cat...that I am aware of...
Ive never seen a black panther but one night when i was camping in oklahoma i heard a strange screaming sound that sounded like a woman was being murdered. And the next morning i went hiking and i saw what looked like cat paw prints but they were the size of my hand. My dad has always told me storys about when a panther stalked him and his dad when they were hunting once.
