It is amazing to see images from the camp. I am working with some people over there to start an organization to benefit the refugees in Ghana. It would be nice if we could work together.
Great video. I was there in 2006. People have businesses and shops: food, hairdressing, clothes, everything you'd expect to see in a village. There are gardens bordering the campwhere some gardeners grow produce to sell. There are many schools and churches, organisations involved in the camp, local NGO's and church based or missionaries providing resources, obviously not enough. It cost Liberian people 1.5 mill cedi's to buy Ghanaian work permit.
for those interested in helping african refugees, please visit our page to help promote awareness. we are a new organization providing mental health and skills training services in refugee camps. We started the work in the Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana this summer and we're expanding it to Liberia in 2009 and Sudan in 2010. We'll be recruiting volunteers soon (bookmark if you're interested). Thank you for your support!
How could I get a copy of that Vision News Letter?
