@CatCommunication point two: Tai Situ performed at that time in Tibet so publicly that Chinese offices had to have notion about whats going on. As you can see on this video, there is no secrecy. It creates serios questions. There is huge propability that there was some agreement between Situpa and Chinese to let all this happen. To be more accurate - between Akong tulku and the Chinese. He had the contacts and did all the dirty work for Situpa.

@CatCommunication point one: The controversy started at four regent's meeting in March 19th. Tai Situ presented his "prediction letter" and Shamarpa with Jamgon Kongthul expressed doubts about authenticity of the handwriting and signature.Shamar Rinpoche wanted the "prediction letter" to be tested forensically. Tai Situ never let that happen.In fact many actions were performed before and during those days behind Shamarpa's and Jamgon's back there in Tsurphu.That's why Shamarpa did not support it

Monks are the only way to fully practice Vajrayana Buddhism in a society like Tibet. But when the government forcibly dis-robes hundreds each month, without authorization, that is not religious freedom.
Tibetans should have the right to enjoy their soveriegnty and express it, but even monastics, non-politcal monastics, are forced to recitate of patriotic scripts supporting China each day.
And no one under the age of 18 may recieve special teachings or do special practices.
