دوای شەڕی کەنداو و ئاوارە بوونی کوردەکان، پڕۆژەی نەوتی کورد هاتە کایە بۆ بە کوردی کردنەوەی نەوتی کوردو ئاوەدان کردنەوەی کوردستان، جەلال تاڵەبانی و مەسحود بارزانی بە فەرمانی داگیرکەران پێشیان بەو پڕۆژەیە گرت و لە دوایشدا بۆخۆیان بەسێوەیەکی نا یاسای دەستیان بەسەر نەوتی کوردستان داگرت و دەستیان کرد بە فرۆشتنی نەوتەکە بەشێوەیەکی قاچاخ، هەزاران ملوێن دۆلاریان پێ پەیدا کردو سەردار پشدەریشیان بە ئاوارەیی هێشتەوە.

Following the Gulf war in 1991, Saddam attacked the Kurds causing 3 million to flee and become refugees on the Kurdish mountains. This humanitarian catastrophe resulted in the UN enforcing a no-fly zone to ensure the safe return of the Kurdish civilian population to areas protected within the no-fly zone. Subsequently, Mr. Sardar Pishdare established a humanitarian oil project for the reconstruction of Southern Kurdistan. The project was also to be used as a channel for the Allied powers to establish a Greater Kurdistan.
The UN granted permission for this project to proceed and Mr. Pishdare began a feasibility study with local and foreign engineers to open capped oil wells. Due to the relationship between Mr. Barzani and Mr. Talabani with Saddam they created obstacles to prevent the project from proceeding, and finally resulted in a civil war between both Mr. Barzani and Mr. Talabani. Today, both have used the Kurdish oil to enrich themselves under the Iraqi flag. They have acted as agents to smuggle oil and sold Kurdish oil rights back to the Iraqi government.

Today we continue to pursue this project, and hope to use it as a bridge between the west and Kurds for the unification of Greater Kurdistan.
