Night and Day - Alternate reality - part 1

A scene from surreal British 'soap' Night & Day (2001-2003). The main plot of the series was the mysterious disappearance of 16-year old Jane Harper (Georgina Walker). Although the series was full of fantasy scenes, flashbacks and bizarre moments, this episode (omnibus 133-134-135, 12 September 2002) stands apart from the others, because it is almost entirely a fantasy of Jane's mother, Dr Natalie Harper (Sally Dexter). Several months before she disappeared, Jane had an abortion, which Natalie didn't know about. Natalie wonders what could have happened if Jane had had the baby and married her first boyfriend, popular local footballer Sam (Stuart Manning). This alternate reality at first seems perfect, but things soon start going wrong...

I love this. Need to campaign to bring it back in dvd format

It would be better to campaign to have a repeat on TV. A DVD release is not going to happen, someone asked ITV and they answered that it was not "commercially viable". :( There were far too many songs used in the show (none of them written originally for the show, except "Always and Forever") and if it were to be released on DVD, they would have to pay huge royalties to several hundred artists... or to re-edit it so to strip it of all music, and then it wouldn't be the same NAD we knew and loved

Does anyone have the Montage at the end when Jane and Josh are kissing and you have the cut scenes of all the characters, in the end?

I didn't think of all the royalty issues. I came into the series half way through. It was already moved to the Thursday late night slot by time I discovered it. I totally forgot about all the great use of music I was just amazed at the plot.

I will gladly start to campaign for a tv repeat. Let's hope others will follow.
