Samir Kantar's family await his return - 16 July 08

Israel has agreed a prisoner exchange with Lebanon's Hezbollah. The most high profile prisoner is Samir Kantar, the longest serving Lebanese prisoner in Israeli custody.

Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr spoke to his family, awaiting his return.

Kuntar is extraordinarily popular in Lebanon, and indeed the entire Arab and Islamic worlds. His supporters are those who need to do some long-delayed soul-searching and explain their own consuming hatreds - most of all to themselves.

Shameful, from the very first sentence. Nahariya as a "settlement?" Given that it's well within Israel proper, the correct word would be "community." Then there's the omission of the brutality with which Kuntar's victims were killed. No mention, naturally, of the father being shot before his 4-year-old girl's eyes, before her own head was bashed in with his rifle butt. Then there's the reporter calling him "Samir" rather than Kuntar. Shameful.

the translator in the beginning when his mother was talking changed u the words. his mother didnt say "i didnt know about what happened until it was reported int he media." she said "he would leave the house for a day 2 days sometimes more." al jazeera has just become another CNN.
