A Reforma Protestante foi um movimento reformista cristão iniciado no século XVI por Martinho Lutero, que, através da publicação de suas 95 teses, protestou contra diversos erros doutrinários da Igreja Católica, propondo uma reforma no catolicismo. Os princípios fundamentais da Reforma Protestante são conhecidos como os Cinco solas. [*]

Lutero foi apoiado por vários religiosos e governantes europeus provocando uma revolução religiosa, iniciada na Alemanha, e estendendo-se pela Suíça, França, Países Baixos, Reino Unido, Escandinávia e algumas partes do Leste europeu, principalmente os Países Bálticos e a Hungria.
The Five solas are five Latin phrases that emerged during the Protestant Reformation and summarize the Reformers' basic theological beliefs in contradistinction to the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church of the day. The Latin word sola means "alone" or "only" in English. The five solas articulated five fundamental beliefs of the Protestant Reformation, pillars which the Reformers believed to be essentials of the Christian life and practice.

O resultado da Reforma Protestante foi a divisão da chamada Igreja do Ocidente entre os católicos romanos e os reformados ou protestantes, originando o Protestantismo.

Grace is before faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Version) 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is not writtne in James 2 that works remove sin, yet the roman church destorts that. From faiht comes works. but sin is removed by Baptism, the lords supper, and repentance only.
