@marktv3 If only that was true. Acting has very little dependency on memorizing lines. It’s about being believable in front of the camera, being able to perform with spontaneity under unnatural conditions (e.g. lights and camera poking in your face) and being “directable.” A casting director assumes you know your lines. He wants to see the character through your eyes and your expressions. He wants to see that you don't break character for even a millisecond.
Hey guys!! I was wondering how much experience an agent looks for in a kid. ( I'm 12 years old ) I mean obviously we haven't had as much time to get experience as a grown up. I have 3 plays ( 1 lead ) 5 years of choir ( I'm in my 6th year of All Girls Choir now ) and I have had 7 week commercial classes. I have just made my resume' and I am taking headshots Tuesday and sending them to agencies in my area. Do I have enough experience?
@TheHOWINGTON well your only 13 I would say take some drama classes at your school and then go to group acting classes after school or on weekends. thats a great head start. learn your craft. when you go to acting classes or schools agents and talent scouts see your work that is recorded, sometimes they even show up. get to know people but mainly your still real young learn your craft and have fun.
@comendytalk00 If you want to get work faster and more suitable for your personality, then an agent is a good idea. Also, some agents have connections, so they can get you parts that you wouldn't normally be able to get on your own

Acting is nothing more than memorizing words and reciting them while pretending to be someone else.
