L88 engine clone for my 69 corvette. actually a more streetable version that runs on pump gas : ZL1 cam , 11:1 compression ratio, dual plane GM intake , holley 800cfm. 503hp at 6300rpm. the dyno in the video has a big brake (2500hp). the engine should show some more hp on smaller dyno. computer simulation shows that this engine would peak 570hp with suitable open plenum race intake manifold (victor or similar) and 900 cfm holley

  • @NWpowerhouse85 . Ya iv been to dyno's with stock L 88's and Zl1's. Their anywhere from 480-540 depending on the day and dyno. Their very impressive for a gm stock engine.

  • @acemaster1001 On an engine dyno? Yeah, that would've been my assumption.

I read some article from....idk, C&D or MT, and they claimed it made 375 hp on an engine dyno----I had a serious problem with this incredibly lousy number, this beast wouldn't have gotten so famous if it was under 400 hp lol.

  • @NWpowerhouse85 . Your average L 88 through corvette manifolds stock 850cfm holley and a legit L 88 gm camshaft with 12:1 compression should turn 520-540 hp's.

  • Any idea what an actual factory motor would turn? Maybe, 10-20hp less than yours?
