Jenrose demonstrates a "santa toss with support twist rucksack-style" back carry in a Sachi Mei Tai from Attachedtobaby.com

This is the first of three videos. There are a wide range of methods for tying the straps or getting a baby on your back, this is the one I've found the fastest and safest "in a hurry". If I will be wearing her long, I may shift to a twist or cross in the front, but re-tying the front straps is simple once baby is up there and the waist straps are tied.

  • You make that look so easy!! I can't seem to comfortably get my son tied on my back. He keeps slipping down all the way to the waistband of my pants, which is killing my back. :(

  • @belialetta

You need to make sure that everything is very snug, and that when you pull the straps back, they go over his legs, they should either be tied under his bum or crossed, brought back under his legs, and tied in front of you. If it is all snug enough, this should keep him from slipping down.

Don't be afraid to re-tie! Lean forward and give a little bounce so that he's higher up, then re-tie while you're leaning forward, snugger.

  • I was scared to do this one at first but my 14th month is so squirmy on my back that the hip scoot was not working and actually became pretty dangerous. I tried this and it was SOOOOO easy and quick! Thanks so much!

  • pretty awsome, demonstrastes extremely clearly how to do this, will help me and baby out alot!

  • This is a very helpful video - many thanks. Darling cute baby too - mine is the same size as yours - so it helps to see how you do it.

  • Thank You so much for posting this video!! I just got my Mei Tai in the mail today and tried to put my son on my back(several times) with the instructions they gave(scooting him from my him to back). I tried so many times(I broke a sweat and he was screaming). Then I found your video, and it was so easy. I got it the first time, and no tears from my son!!!! Thanks
