@shermanpedro1 Not sure about a few of these, but it was originally written as a more melodic/modern way of doing a classic Shakespearean song (he was also a songwriter, hence the nick name "The Immortal Bard")

Saw this play in Stratford about a month ago. Saying that it was fantastic is an understatement.

So where does the Red Dirt Band perform?? Song wasn't written for the Stratford 12th Night?? Why was it written originally??? Is there a whole Red Dirt Band CD?? Glad this is not Canadian Actors Equity & is still on Y Tube. Musicians are different. Rock on Mr. McAnuff!!!

@shermanpedro1 Those are all great questions and ones I don't know the answer. If I were to guess at why this song was originally written I would have to say it's a mash-up of Des McAnuff's two passions (rock music and Shakespeare).

So how far ahead does Stratford do stuff?? This great song posted 2/10 & the show was in the 2011 season??? Loved the song. Have the soundtrack & can't wait for the video. Put this as an extra on the DVD.

@shermanpedro1 This is a song that Des McAnuff and The Red Dirt Band perform. It was a fit for the 2011 production of Twelfth Night so it was included in the production.
